We started the day with a game drive along the river side. We saw an elephant not far from camp, as well as lots of animals and birds in the big open area nearby.
As we proceeded along the drive, we encountered fewer animals, but continued to see some cool birds.
Back at camp we had lunch and a rest, then we came back to the main building for a cultural talk. One of the women on the staff talked about women’s roles and how they are brought up in the local culture , including appropriate behavior with elders, dress, reaching puberty, dating, marriage and family life.
We left for a sundowner boat cruise, but were delayed because one traveler was trapped at their tent by an elephant. We collected him in a boat, and then watched the elephant from the river for half an hour or
We enjoyed the evening sights and sounds on the river for a while then returned to camp for dinner, and bed.
During the night, Ruth heard a large cat (either a lion or a leopard) outside our tent. It was a big topic of conversation at breakfast as we packed up to depart for our next destination.
We enjoyed a return flight to Livingstone. It was fun to see the river that we had explored by boat.
In Livingstone, we stopped at a local market to buy local chitenge cloth, and a few other items before heading to the Botswana border.
